During her earlier career at UNC School of Medicine, Malory worked as an inpatient psychotherapist, treating patients who were living with the daily weight of mental illness connected directly to their military service.\r\n      <\/p>\r\n      <p>\r\n        She saw firsthand what happens when veterans who have already sacrificed so much are left to fight an additional, exhausting battle just to be heard by the VA. That experience stayed with her.\r\n      <\/p>\r\n      <p>\r\n        While in law school, Attorney Windham joined the Veterans Law Clinic and began to learn, case by case, just how complex \u2014 and how often unfair \u2014 the VA disability benefits process could be for the people it was designed to serve. Frustrated by the system, and still carrying the stories of the veterans she'd worked with as a clinician, she made a decision: her legal career would be built entirely around helping veterans get the benefits they had already earned.\r\n      <\/p>\r\n      <p>\r\n        That dual background is what sets Windham Law apart. Because Malory understands the clinical and emotional side of a disability claim, not just the legal one, she's able to offer clients something many law firms can't: a genuinely personable, well-informed experience where veterans feel heard, not processed.
